I was walking through the common a few days ago and decided to investigate the monument on the hill there:
I had seen it many times before, of course, but hadn't really had too close a look. When I did, here's what I saw:
A very fitting memorial to war, indeed, even if the message that comes across today was not exactly that intended by those who designed and erected it.
