One More Thing to Love About Fall

Actually, I see five or six things to love right here.
Football. Not only is it not baseball, which would be plenty enough to recommend it in my book, but it's got everything you really need in a sport, even if you don't understand the rules.
You've got big, lovable lugs playing it, first of all. Baseballers? Yeah, there's an occasional Big Papi, but nine out of ten baseballers are kind of catty, when you get right down to it. Because baseball is an ego game. And baseballers come off as defensive because they stand around with their thumbs up their asses 90% of the time.
Football's obviously different in this sense. And footballers are, too. They've got heart. And they pour it all into their game.
Remember Tom Brady at that press conference where he talked about losing Deion Branch? That was a tear-jerker. "I'm a very emotional person," Brady said, his voice cracking a little. "At least I feel like now I can move on." Better than a chick-flick.
Danger. Derring-do. Drama. Forbidden romance. And manlove aplenty.
Better than Brokeback Mountain on Crystal Meth, if you ask me.
