Does this really surprise anyone? I mean, aside from the 30-million members of the the National Association of Evangelicals, which Reverend Ted Haggard, the flaming gay call-boy-loving crystal-meth-addicted hypocrite in question, headed? This says more about their gullibility than anything.
The shocking thing is not that Haggard was a decadent, even flamboyant abuser of his public's trust, given the money and power at his command, but that his public trusted him to begin with. And these are the same people who elected the president.
