Quote of the Day

How many times have we heard this one, fellas:

"You have to be nervous.  A package is a suspicious package, no matter how cute it is."

— Lynn Wilcott, 35, who works at Mass General, quoted in The Globe.

MASTER SHEIK LITE-BRITE BOMB PLOT FOILED.
Hyper-nervous, Culturally inept Luddites repel terrorist attack launched by Cartoon Master-mind...

Thank you Aqua-teen Hunger Force, Thank you for proving once and for all that we as a nation still quiver in the shadows of the WTC Towers.

Thank you Fox News, CNN, MSNBC etc for raising the national alert level to Orange over a handful of LEDs

Thank you MBTA, for showing that, in case of a real emergency, your website will, most certainly, be down.

Thank all those who refer to this as a "hoax" as hoax implies intent. I am Certain that Turner Broadcasting said "hey, I have a great idea for a viral marketing campaign for our new movie. How about strapping fake bombs to infrastructure in every major city across the nation. that'll really pack 'em in"

And a big fat thank you to homeland security for showing due diligence in this war on terror. I can sleep better knowing that if terrorists plant 20 GLOW IN THE DARK BOMBS through-out the city that you'll race to protect us... in a few short weeks.

1st course of action, shut down the frozen river.
2nd, send buses full of people over the bridges instead of trains full of people...
    3rd, blow up suspected bombs....

Rest assured in knowing that we, as a city and a nation, will be ready for the impending Scratch N Sniff Meatwad attacks that are sure to come...

Wow Mike, I was unaware all of this had happened until I got home and saw it on the news and by then it was over, but if I had known about this when it was occuring, I would have worried about you. Hell, I might have even started a prayer chain here in Indianapolis and if god weren't so busy answering prayers for a win from colts fans, maybe he would have raptured you back to Indy. Anyway, I'm glad you're doing well, I'm glad you're my friend.

I haven't figured out who I think is stupider, Menino or the police. Boston wasn't the only city this happened in and authorities there figured out what was going on in short order. Here, they make fools of themselves and then start arresting people and threatening law suits to try and cover the fact that they're hysterical meatheads. Yeesh, what a city!

I couldn't believe I missed the whole thing! I even cross the Longfellow bridge every day on the red line to and from work! But alas, it was over by the time I got out of work.

Personally, I laughed when I heard about it. Sorry for everyone who was stuck in the perils of traffic and waiting for trains while all this was going on... but still, it's such a relief that it was just ERR, not tERRor!
    (pun intended, of course!)

I'm still chuckling; of course, I laugh at the wrong things usually. Now to get rid of the worst terror in Boston: those evil girl scout cookies!
