Happy Juneteenth

Saturday afternoon, "Governor Deval Patrick signed a proclamation that makes June 19 a day of observance to commemorate the date in 1865 when the last people held as slaves in the United States learned they were free."

This makes Massachusetts the 25th state in the Union to do so. Here's hoping the other 25 will follow suit.
