Stick It!
It's been too hot the last couple of days to be in the garden for any length of time. I've dropped by and put a half an hour or so in, but the sun really takes it out of you.
The bee balm's all gone. It was spectacular this year.
Now my rose of sharon is in full bloom.
My neighbor Eddie came by towards the end of summer '05 with a naked twig about two feet long and said, "stick this in the ground and water it."
I did, and now it's a monster.
Nature never ceases to amaze me.
I remember it well. Your Rose of Sharon has really erupted this year. As you say, nature is just amazing.

The bee balm up here in southern New Hampshire is not yet gone and has been thicker and more heavily flowered than Fritz and I have ever seen it. It has also attracted huge numbers of bees, butterflies, dragonflies and others, and been a continual joy.

I took some pictures of our Rose of Sharon the other day. I've joined you in posting them. The bushes are so loaded with blooms I think 50% of them have dropped off without even opening.
