I find myself working like a dog lately, squirreling away my pay so I can take September off to work on some projects I've had on the back burner for a while (and to devote myself to resolving my $662 bill with Boston Medical Center, which is turning into a full-time job).

So if I'm giving short shrift to the blog, it's not out of boredom with current affairs (certainly not with my own current affairs, which are as scintillating as ever). It's simply a matter of having time and energy to dish about them here.

As Gertrude Stein once said, "It takes a lot of time to be a genius, you have to sit around so much doing nothing, really doing nothing."

That's what I'm plotting for September. Stay tuned.
