Working in a Winter Wonderland

This morning the TV news is full of horror stories about fallen trees and downed power lines, but, once again, lucky me, I missed all that. It was pretty magical where I was, for the most part. I hope it was where you were, too.
Having learned their lesson with the last snowstorm, the Globe reports, many folks in the Metro Boston area who insisted on driving to work last time telecommuted this time. That was smart. See, we can do this. It's called "Winter in New England." And sometimes it snows. You have to adjust your schedule and habits a bit. But it's definitely doable.
I walked around the neighborhood taking in the winter-wonderlandishness of it all, helped some folks dig out mid-day, sort of threw out my back, and hobbled home. Three of my housemates work for educational institutions, and a fourth is self-employed, so there was a lot going on at home.
One of my housemates is a yoga instructor and offered to teach me some moves to help with my back, but once I went up into the parapet I never came down again. I spent the evening at a 45-degree angle with my beloved hot water bottle reading the LOLCats Bible on my laptop at atari_age's suggestion. Now that's a religion. It's blowing my mind. I'm thinking of converting.

I was getting some winter wonderland photos myself, minus throwing out my back. Lucky you, not having to go into the office. I got to slide on all the lovely black ice covering the sidewalks today. It's kind of cool really that getting into work can have difficulty levels.
Good luck with the hot water bottle. You should be fine by the time we're ready to go back out to the gardens.
