Pink Power

My lilac's about to pop...

Hopefully the rain we're supposed to get will ease up before it's in full splendor.  The sweet scent of lilac is already intoxicating, but a couple of days from now it'll be like a crack.

Here's a view of one side of my garden from the gate. As you can see, I still haven't solved my little lavender problem...

I'm just thinking it may be too much of a good thing.

Here's a different view, from what will be my secret little spot in the back corner once my Rose of Sharon (which is outside of the frame, off to the left) fills out a bit...

It doesn't look like much right now, but a little rain, a little shine, in a little time it'll be a real little slice of Heaven.

Is this a community garden? Sorry, first time I've been here. Just wondering because I live across the street from the Fenway Victory Gardens.

The lilac bush on the corner of my neighbor's yard just popped out in full glory yesterday and that sweet smell is just wonderful, wafting through the open windows of my house.

Funny, the smell of lilac brings back some really nice childhood memories.

there is no such thing as too much lavender! Soon enough other colors will balance it out. What colors are the Peony and the Iris? Are those Poppies coming up next to the Iris?

Damn, eagle eye!  I'm impressed! Those are Siberian iris so they're deep purple (some are royal blue), and the tree peony is bright pink (and breathtakingly beautiful when in bloom)!  The poppies, which are migrants from the garden next door, are orange.

*sigh* I was looking up information on the Victory Gardens on Universal Hub today and ended up here. Winter is sooooo long. Your pictures make me yearn for spring, or at least a long session with seed catalogs.
