Idiot's Guide to Winning the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest

Finally!  Here it is.

I have long lamented not just my inability to win the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest, but my inability to come up with a single caption, at all, ever, no matter how long and how hard I stare at the week's captionless cartoon.

Aside from the curdled liberal self-loathing of this week's winner, Patrick House (I thought Anne Foster's "Better make that a large pizza" was better), I found his advice useful.

So, after studying House's Idiot's Guide, I've decided to go ahead and submit my caption for this week's cartoon:

"Um, grrr?"

Keep your fingers crossed!

One of the things I do on fridays is that I bastardize comics with my own captions.

Lately i've been doing New Yorker cartoons because they are so lame.
