Economists are from Mars
The Times reports that producers prices rose 1.4% in May, "the fastest [rate] in six months." But, not to worry: "core inflation — excluding food and energy — grew only moderately."
Oh, it's only food and energy you can't afford. Whew! That's a relief. Carry on.
The aliens are among us. They don't need food or energy, apparently. And they're running our economy. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
