October Garden

A little bedraggled, but still going. I sure got a lot of bang for my buck from my zinnias, which bloomed all summer and show no signs of ever stopping...

My nasturtium went wild, adding bright orange to to my autumn mix...

Shasta daisies and hardy aster are out everywhere...

Dahlias are still at it...

Sedum's peaking...

Still plenty going on, like I said. But once the bumble bees are gone, you can feel things winding down. The days are getting shorter, the shadows longer. That sense of sweet melancholy creeping in, as you gather up your little harvest of summer memories, and squirrel them away for the winter.

What a lovely garden. That bottom photo looks like the subject of a Monet painting. Congratulations on your hard work paying off.
