License Revoked

Did you hear about this
Dr. Charles Bizilj stood 10 feet behind his son this weekend at a "Machine Gun Shoot" in Westfield, where the third grader aimed an Uzi at a pumpkin in the distance.

As Bizilj reached for his camera, the boy clutched the gun in his arms and squeezed the trigger. The Uzi flipped backwards and 8-year-old Christopher Bizilj fatally shot himself in the head.
This would be, like, number three on my License to Reproduce Exam, after
1.  Answer "Yes" or "No." Would you allow a pack of hungry Rottweilers to babysit your infant?
and
2. True or False: Children can best learn about the dangers of fire by being roasted on a spit.
I have a funny feeling Dr. Bizilj here would not have passed my exam.  Some people should simply never, ever, under any conceivable circumstances be entrusted with the awesome task of raising a child.  The father's grief is not an adequate answer to his tragic lack of judgment as a parent, or, frankly in reproducing in the first place.

Bizilj should be prosecuted for manslaughter, but our society has failed to hold parents to even a reasonable standard of common sense where guns are concerned.  There is apparently no minimum legal age for handling a gun under parental supervision.  There were several adults present.

All of them should have their licenses — their gun licenses and their licenses to reproduce — permanently revoked.
