Casa Romera to Reopen Just in Time for Valentine's Day

Casa Romero, the romantic little Back bay restaurant that was severely damaged last month by burst water pipes in the old L'Espalier kitchen upstairs, is set to reopen — get this — on Valentine's Day!

Co-Proprietor Iory Allison sent me this update yesterday:
We are now in our 5th week of reconstruction and hoping to reopen for business as usual, and even better, on February 14th, Valentine's Day. That night we will be serving our very popular entrees that we have featured for the last 37 years. The atmosphere of Casa Romero will be much the same using Mexican Talavera tiles and our traditional colonial decor with [Chef Leo Romero's] collection of regional Mexican masks, Mexican art and handicrafts. We will be featuring a small lounge and Tequila bar serving Antojitos ( Mexican hors d'oeuvres similar to Spanish Tapas ). The full dinner menu will be available in the main dining rooms.
If you're looking for a romantic little spot for you and your lum-lum on Valentine's Day, make your reservations today at 617-536-4341.

I already have a date, but, gee, Jer, I'm flattered -- and I'm sure Iory and Leo would be thrilled -- to hear that you would travel a thousand miles for dinner at the Casa!  I'm lucky to have it just the other side of the Charles.

Enjoy your Derby date!  And don't forget to wear your knee- and elbow-pads!
