Shepard Fairey Nabbed on the Way to His ICA Opening

(Again.)

What is it with Boston and street art?  First it's the Mooninites. Then it's Ron English's Obraham Lincolns.  And now Bruce McColluch look-alike and street artist-turned-NPG laureate Shepard Fairey!  What have Boston First-Responders and Police got against street art?

Shep was arrested last night on the way to his own art opening at the ICA!  No one seems to know why, but his fans, some of whom reportedly paid up to five-hundred bucks to see him DJ his opening night bash, thought it was pretty cool.  Well, maybe not cool (that's five-hundred bucks down the toilet, after all), but, as one street-art sycophant said: "I think it shows he has integrity."

One of the paradoxes of art is that it probably says the same about the Boston PD, somehow.
