Signs of Spring, Part Two

I took a long stroll through the South End and Back Bay with my friend, The Spaniard, this morning.  Aside from the unseasonable warmth and sunshine, signs of Spring were everywhere, but then desperate people see signs of salvation in everything, don't they?

Still, you can't deny the daffodils...

...even if it'll be a while before my naked garden is suitable for naked gardening again...

Bostonians are used to doing their business in all sorts of weather, usually in flip-flops, so we didn't flinch when we saw the old salty dogs out cruising the banks of the Muddy River as we passed through the Fens on the way to Back Bay for brunch...

I hadn't been in the Fenway all winter, and I was sort of hoping against hope that Restaurant Row, destroyed by a fire last January, would have risen from the ashes.  I was thinking some good cheap eats at Thornton's, but unfortunately no signs of Spring on this end Peterborough Street...

We ended up quite by accident at Petit Robert's in Kenmore Square, which was lovely, and surprisingly reasonable considering we had an actual French waiter.  A hint of Paris in the Spring.

Of course it's silly to take these signs of Spring too seriously.  Especially with the cruelest month right around the corner, waiting to pounce.
