Eat the Rich
Two stories in today's Globe (today's #1 and #2 most e-mailed) caught my eye:
and
The first is about how firms are trying to stave off famine by feeding their financially ruined rank-and-file. Forget corporate cars and Christmas bonuses, this year you're getting a chicken and a sack of meal.
The second is about how residents of 48 Commonwealth Ave. "engaged in a bidding war for [a parking] space, driving the asking price of $250,000 up to the record-breaking $300,000."
The best of times, the worst of times, indeed.
Oh, and not surprisingly: "the winning bidder did not want to be identified."
I wouldn't either. The natives are restless. And once that pizza runs out things could get ugly...
