String Theory (Art School Version)

I was in the West Fens this morning when I came upon a ruin that had been arted...

It looked to be what remained of an old bridge near the clusterfuck of Fenway—Evans Way-Louis Prang (you can see it on google maps). But the gap in the old bridge had been... well, bridged by twine.

It was too labor intensive and obstinately gratuitous to be anything but art, but I looked around to see if there was more to it, and indeed, there was. Where else but in the trees?

I tried not to imagine the art school assignment that may have prompted the project (it is, after all, a stone's throw from both the Museum School and AssMart).  The piece certainly had no need of the justifications or rationalizations that muddy the waters of contemporary art.

Especially here, where the art literally rises above the Muddy River.
