Glamour Galore for All You Glamour Whores

The incomparable Iory Allison launched his latest novel, The Mermaid and the Sailor, at the Casa Romero last night, with drinks on the house and a dramatic reading, complete with musical accompaniment by his "Glamour Gang"

Aside from a necessary periodic appearance amongst Boston's glitterati, it was an opportunity for me to catch up with some Friends of the Blog I don't get to see enough of (especially in tight trousers by what are easily the butchiest tailors in Boston).

There were too many local luminaries in attendance to mention here, but I should plug a couple of upcoming events I learned of at a more intimate dinner gathering afterward:

Theater on Fire's Sixth Season Opener, Almost an Evening by Ethan Coen premieres in October.  It has the lovely and talented (or at least talented — kidding!) Craig Houk (of Act a Lady and 7 Blowjobs infamy) in it.  Go see it.  It's gonna be awesome.

And Opera Boston's season is opening with Beethoven's Fidelio! (exclamation point added for emphasis).  Beethoven's only opera is set during la Terreur! (exclamation point added, again, for emphasis).  Go see it.  It will knock your socks off.

So much glamour, so little time.
